Explore Lamu charge 15% for any payment you make to local vendors via our platform.
The service fee is charged to users who are making a direct local payment to vendors who use Explore Lamu to accept secure payments.
Vendors earn 100% of each of their transactions. Vendors are charged a 0% processing fee on all payments they receive. Withdrawals are made in KSH at the daily exchange rate.
Where Explore Lamu manages the booking process for accommodation or a service we will charge the vendor a 15% commission on the booking.
Payments are made to vendors monthly to clear any funds owing, or on request provided a minimum balance of $20 is reached in the vendors account.
Explore Lamu uses a USD to Ksh exchange rate that is updated daily. We confirm the exchange rate before making withdrawal payments. The exchange rate is applied to the USD withdrawal value.
We price all products and services in USD as the exchange rate to Kenya Shillings changed rapidly and this would result in our prices going out of date more rapidly. USD are to be used on all payments on the website. Your payments to Explore Lamu will show in USD and you will most likely be charged your current banks exchange rate to your own currency when you make the payment.
Explore Lamu requires full payment for any confirmed booking and operates a strict cancellation policy. Free cancellations are only possible for cancellations 60 days before arrival. After this point a 15% cancellation fee will apply. You will be refunded the remainder of your booking inline with the terms and conditions or your booked accommodation / or service providers .
Yes. You can change your booking dates but will be limited by current availability and seasonal price changes for your booking may apply. A 10% rebooking fee will be charged.
